Grigor Dimitrov began playing tennis at the age of five years old. In 2008, he won both junior Wimbledon and US Open titles. In 2011, Dimitrov was the third-youngest player in the Top 100 and the top player from Bulgaria, finishing the year as No. 76.

Grigor Dimitrov began playing tennis at the age of five years old. In 2008, he won both junior Wimbledon and US Open titles. In 2011, Dimitrov was the third-youngest player in the Top 100 and the top player from Bulgaria, finishing the year as No. 76.He was the first Bulgarian to win an ATP World Tour title with his win over No. 3 Ferrer at Stockholm. He finished out 2014 with a ranking of No. 11, on his way to the dream of one day becoming World No. 1. Dimitrov uses a Wilson Prototype Spin Effect racquet strung with Luxilon 4G 125 or Wilson Natural Gut 17 strings.

Dimitrov, an only child, comes from two athletic parents. His father, Dimitar, is a tennis coach, and his mother, Maria, is a sports teacher and former volleyball player.
