Kei Nishikori
Kei Nishikori began playing tennis at the age of five years old. At the age of 14, he moved from his hometown of Shimane, Japan, to the US to train at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida where he still trains today.
Kei Nishikori began playing tennis at the age of five years old. At the age of 14, he moved from his hometown of Shimane, Japan, to the US to train at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida where he still trains today. At age 16, Kei was ranked in the top 20 on the ITF Juniors Circuit and only one year later was ranked in the ATP top 300. During the 2008 US Open in New York, Kei made it to the last 16, the first Japanese player to do so since 1937, and defeated #4 David Ferrer in the process making him the youngest player to defeat a Top 4 seed since 1973. Kei uses a Wilson Burn racquet strung with Luxilon 4G 125 or Wilson Natural Gut 16 strings.
