Milos Raonic, who plays with a two-handed backhand, started playing tennis at the age of eight years old with his father who trained him at either 6:30am or 9:00pm due to court fees being cheaper at these times. He was one of the first players to join Tennis Canada's National Training Centre in Montreal at its opening in 2007. He favors the serve and overhead shots and enjoys playing on hard surfaces the best. Raonic uses a Wilson Blade racquet strung with Luxilon M2 Pro strings.
Raonic enjoys watching movies and talking with his family on Skype. He is also an avid supporter of FC Barcelona footbal and the Toronto Raptors basketball team.
Raonic was named Newcomer of the Year in the 2011 ATP World Tour Awards after jumping from No. 156 in the Emirates ATP Rankings at the start of the season to No. 31 on November 14, 2011. He was named QMI Agency Canadian Athlete of the Year on December 20, 2012.
